Bianca Nicole Sissing, Miss Universe 2004 top 15, & Miss World 2003 semifinalist

Miss Universe 2004 had a number of gorgeous women. One of them was Bianca Nicole Sissing from Switzerland who only made it into the top 15.

Here she is after coming in 2nd in the Beach Beauty contest in Miss World 2003, in which Rosanna Davison of Ireland won.

Marina Mora, Miss World 2002 2nd Runner Up

I also want to remember some ladies who did not win in the Miss Universe or Miss World pageants but completely swept me away with her beauty.

One of them is Miss Peru, Marina Mora, who was 3rd in Miss World 2002.

Oxana Federova, Miss Universe 2002 (resigned)

Possibly one of the most beautiful woman-goddess on earth, Miss Russia, Oxana Fedorova won the Miss Universe crown in 2002. She supposedly gave up the crown about 4 months later.
But who could forget her? She should be a movie star.

Roberta Capua, Miss Universe 1987 1st Runner Up

In my previous blog below, I mentioned Roberta Capua, who won 1st runner up in Miss Universe 1987. Oh, she was so innocent-looking yet tall and beautiful.

I loved the red dress she wore, all covered up, but she was so elegant in it.

Managed to find some photos of her today and she is still as ravishing.

Cecilia Bolocco, Miss Universe 1987

Miss Universe 1987 was held in Singapore. The winner -- Cecilia Bolocco from Chile. I would not consider her facial features as being my favourite, but overall, she had such ooze, confidence, and elegance that she had to be the winner.

I absolutely loved the white gown she wore, with gloves. She was the epitome of classic beauty, something that is missing nowadays.

I do think that the winners in the 80's were more womanly and beautiful, as compared to the winners in the 90's, even though the fashion in the 80's was too puffed-up for my liking.

I loved some of the other runners-up as well, especially 1st Runner-up Roberta Capua.

Jennifer Hawkins, Miss Universe 2004

In 2004, Miss Australia finally won the Miss Universe crown. It had been a long time since any Australian made any impact in the international beauty competition, even though Australia is well-known for its bikini-laden golden beaches.
Jennifer Hawkins is one of the sexiest women I've seen on stage. The moment she walks out, omg, even the women melted.

Angela Visser, Miss Universe 1989

Angela Visser from Holland won Miss Universe 1989. The moment you saw her, she exuded a warmth and friendliness that immediately attracted everyone. It is no wonder that she won. She had a great body too. Let me just try and find a swimsuit photo of her.

Yvonne Ryding, Miss Universe 1984

The very first Miss Universe that I watched crowned on TV was this beautiful Swedish beauty, Yvonne Ryding. Blonde curls, sparkling smile, hour-glass figure. The perfect blonde beauty.

Blondes are obviously not the flavour of the month in the Miss Universe pageants in the 2000's.

The contestants were so matronly in the 80's and most were on the fleshy side. Looking back, the dresses were a disaster, including the gown worn by the winning Miss Sweden. The most glamourous dress was the blue one belonging to Miss Venezuela. But she didn't carry herself well enough to win. However, that blue dress wouldn't go down well if it was worn in Miss Universe in the 2000's.

Stefania Fernandez, Miss Universe 2009

Just when I was talking about my favourite beauty queen from Venezuela, another young lady emerges from the same country, winning the Miss Universe crown in 2009.
What is this with these Venezuelans? 18 and so full of confidence, with a maturity on stage that is so unbelievable at this age. She is aware of her beauty and her power. That's what being human is.

Astrid Herrera, Miss World 1984

The year 1984 I saw the most beautiful woman ever. She was Miss World 1984, Astrid Herrera. No one has come close to her beauty then.

I couldn't believe my eyes then, as a young girl. How could anyone be born so beautiful. I checked her up on the internet in recent years but she doesn't look like an aged version of this woman at all. I wonder why, and I was quite disappointed.

In 1984, Astrid created a controversy with animal activists when she competed for the Miss World title in London. Apparently, she was a successful model in Venezuela and was a poster girl for a bull-fighting event!

Anyways, she would always be my most beautiful beauty queen. Her name will always be my favourite name, and would be the name for my heroine if I write a story or for my daughter.
