Miss World -- Never Follow It Again

I predict the demise of Miss World Pageant. It should be sold to Donald Trump for 1 cent!

2009 Miss World judges bore some kind of small-hearted jealousy towards beauty, resulting in the most beautiful woman ever to participate in a beauty pageant be robbed of a crown. Perla Betran from Mexico was widely-touted as a clear winner from the start, as she was pure perfection. However, I didn't like this blue gown she had on the night of competition. It wasn't sexy at all.

It felt as though there was a conspiracy not to give the crown to a clear, perfect-looking winner and the favourite, and instead award the crown to the one most unlikely to win -- as a slap towards beauty.

But Ms Beltran had to stand quietly, graciously and generously let someone else less deserving take the limelight. Undescribable. Worst winner in history. Perla, you will go on charming the public with your beauty and courageousness.

Perla Beltran

I am posting Miss Gibraltar's photo here JUST as a comparison to Perla, Miss Mexico. My blog is not worthy of any winner like this!!!!

Miss World 2009 from Gibraltar -- Miss World organization cheating the taxpayers of South Africa with the unfathomable results of a mindless pageant, all the sponsors came for a "cheap" show -- "Blimey, I say, were those results for real? What did you put in my tea? Tell me I'm not seeing things..." and worst of all, they played the most cruel joke on Miss Gibraltar.

It was like the Beverly Hillbillies winning Miss World. No standard! For those who don't know who the Beverly Hillbillies are --- notice the resemblance?

 Yee hah!

Perla Beltran, Miss World 2009?

I have to start a space for Perla Beltran, Miss Mexico, competing in this year's Miss World. I have been following some of the pageant fans' forums and she is a favourite to win. This woman is so beautiful that if she doesn't win Miss World, I think that organization might as well close down.

She is one of the near-perfect beauties that has surfaced in the international beauty pageant arena in a long long time. Where has she been hiding so long? Anyway, she will go down in history as one of the most beautiful women who has ever lived.

Her gorgeous blue eyes remind me of Morgan Brittany and Morgan Fairchild, two gorgeous actresses who were famous on TV in the 80's.

See the comparisons below of Perla and the 2 Morgans...

I will try to post as many photos of Perla Beltran as I can find....

The Crown I Like The Best

This crown for Miss Malaysia Chinese International 2000 was designed by a simple jewelry designer in Malaysia. This was a pageant I organized and produced for TV.

This crown is not huge and grandiosely frightening, but it has the right fairy-princessy-queenly shape that is elegant, simple and pretty.....just like on the heads of the Swan Lake princesses. I loathe the big gigantic crowns that make beauty queens look like the Pope :(

The above is a photo of Law Shiau Pyng, Miss Malaysia Chinese International 2000 and superstar shoe designer, Jimmy Choo, who is from Malaysia. More on this title later....

Lara Dutta, Miss Universe 2000; Priyanka Chopra, Miss World 2000 & Yukta Mookhey, Miss World 1999

While on the subject of Indian beauties below, I've added my tribute to the year 2000 Indian beauties. Another extraordinary feat. Two Indian ladies capturing the crowns of Miss Universe (Lara Dutta) & Miss World (Priyanka Chopra) in 2000.

Lara Dutta, Miss Universe 2000, won hands down during her competition. Perfect body, perfect poise, perfect personality, perfect answer, perfect smile.

Lara Dutta

Her 1st runner up in Miss India, Priyanka Chopra, went on to win Miss World 2000, repeating the feat by the Sushmita-Aishwarya duo 7 years before that in 1994.

Priyanka Chopra - more beautiful than winning night of Miss World.

(I'm sorry to say, another horrible TV production again from Miss World producers).

But let me remind you in 1999, Yukta Mookhey from India had won the Miss World crown, so it was a back-to-back win for India in 1999-2000. What an achievement! She was another Indian you just couldn't beat. You could have stopped the pageant half way, cos no way was anyone else going to get the crown.

Sushmita Sen, Miss Universe 1994 & Aishwarya Rai, Miss World 1994

In 1994, Miss India hit jackpot. It's top 3 winners that year all went on to represent India in international beauty pageants and swept the crowns for 2 major beauty titles! That was the starring moment of the Indian beauty empire.

Miss Universe 1994, Sushmita Sen, and Miss World 1994, Aishwarya Rai, will go down in history as the great Indian beauties. I love both of them.

Here are pictures of Aishwarya Rai, now a mega superstar. More of Sushmita to follow.

If you watch this video, you will be shocked at the TV production quality of the English. Horrible. Just as the crowning moment comes for the most beautiful woman of the world, they cover her face with their names.

On the other hand, watch this video of Miss Universe 1994, Sushmita Sen's crowning. You will see that the TV production quality of the Americans is way superior!
Pictures of cute Sushmita Sen.

Ksenia Sukhinova, Miss World 2008

I have to congratulate the Miss World organization because most of their winners in the past few years have been really stunning! Normally, one expects the Miss World pageant to be 2nd to Miss Universe -- one because of its name, 2nd because of its prestige/name.

But the truth is, Miss World normally has more contestants than Miss World. I was blown away by how beautiful Miss Russia was, in her electric blue dress that matched the crown.

The 2 runners-up are nowhere close to winning, even if they did. I really hope beauty contestants, especially those that have to do their own hairstyle at international beauty pageants, do not have that big, bulging hair like the picture below of Miss Trinidad & Tobago. It's really outdated and makes a young girl look like an old rich, dame.

Miss Russia's name is so difficult to pronounce, and that's why I can't say it. But here's a picture to remember her by.

Zuleyka Rivera, Miss Universe 2006

Possibly the most memorable, unique and gorgeous evening gown ever worn by a Miss Universe winner was the one worn by Zuleyka Rivera from Puerto Rico. I still talk about that gown until today. And that gown clearly helped her to secure the crown to complement her gown.
In 2006, only she could win and I really believe that gown blew everyone away. She didn't have the most shapely body in my eyes.
But I believe what you wear could either make you look like an international beauty queen or just plain average rich girl attending a prestigious function with her man.

Bianca Nicole Sissing, Miss Universe 2004 top 15, & Miss World 2003 semifinalist

Miss Universe 2004 had a number of gorgeous women. One of them was Bianca Nicole Sissing from Switzerland who only made it into the top 15.

Here she is after coming in 2nd in the Beach Beauty contest in Miss World 2003, in which Rosanna Davison of Ireland won.

Marina Mora, Miss World 2002 2nd Runner Up

I also want to remember some ladies who did not win in the Miss Universe or Miss World pageants but completely swept me away with her beauty.

One of them is Miss Peru, Marina Mora, who was 3rd in Miss World 2002.

Oxana Federova, Miss Universe 2002 (resigned)

Possibly one of the most beautiful woman-goddess on earth, Miss Russia, Oxana Fedorova won the Miss Universe crown in 2002. She supposedly gave up the crown about 4 months later.
But who could forget her? She should be a movie star.

Roberta Capua, Miss Universe 1987 1st Runner Up

In my previous blog below, I mentioned Roberta Capua, who won 1st runner up in Miss Universe 1987. Oh, she was so innocent-looking yet tall and beautiful.

I loved the red dress she wore, all covered up, but she was so elegant in it.

Managed to find some photos of her today and she is still as ravishing.
